Some rhubarb mixed
with strawberry
A pie that’s fixed
in memory
(I have to say)
as just okay
In a good way

I’m happy that my ha’sonnet poem “I Understand” was published on the “FREE VERSE REVOLUTION” site on 20 December as a submission for their December theme Endings.
I like your poem; it reminds me of my mom’s strawberry pie, made from scratch and not with packaged strawberry goo for the filling. She has also made peach and blueberry versions.

Thank you. Good for your mother! My mother made apple pies and the occasional peach pie, but berries were used other ways. I don’t remember who made the strawberry rhubarb pies.
