Epiphany

On the twelfth day
there were three kings
which in some way
led to five rings
(or for the kooks
led to five toques

Epiphany is the day the three wise men or kings arrived at the stable where the baby had been born. It is said to have occurred twelve days after the birth, thus giving us the Twelve Days of Christmas, and is traditionally celebrated on 6 January. When my mother was a child where she grew up it was also the day Christmas gifts were exchanged.

  1. Traditions are passed down generations. My Mom would put the tree up week of Christmas we would decorate it midweek. one gift opened Christmas Eve there never were any others under the tree, Christmas Day we opened gifts, the tree was never taken down until after 3 kings and there was always a small gift that day. I still up hold that tradition as does my daughter 🙂
