I dreamt of lies
laughing away
cryptic replies
pointed my way
A mystery
was shipped to me
while sleep reigned deep

Oddly enough, re dreams–and also your recent poem about a cat–last night I was dreaming about cats. So I quickly threw a ha’sonnet together just for you:
No fan of cats
Nor other pet
Just silly facts
Thus, dream caused fret
First there was one
But before done
Three stared (woke scared!)
Rhen 🙂 Have a blessed weekend!

Ha! Very well done! The muse strikes in funny ways! And great job with the ending line.👍 I actually have three cats that I love as pets, but I can understand feeling scared. 😸😸😸😉

In that crazy dream I had, it was quite disconcerting when the 2nd and 3rd cats showed up…as I couldn’t figure out how they’d gotten in, where they’d come from…so that was the “scared” part 🙂 I think it’s funny that we were chatting about “odd” dreams…and though I’d already forgotten your poem about the cat, “the troop visited my dreams” 🙂 I guess I’d forgotten that the Muse sometimes works the night shift…when we’re sleeping perchance to dream. I need to work on more of these ha’sonnets–they’re a challenge, but fun 🙂

Cats have a way of appearing. My family figure they can move through walls and levitate through ceilings. You trip over one upstairs that you’d just left downstairs and it didn’t pass you on the way. So yeah, they’ll just show up. 😸 Funny you said “sleeping perchance.” Last August I posted a ha’sonnet in response to a prompt titled “To Sleep Perchance” that features a cat. I’m glad you find the ha’sonnet form fun. I enjoy them almost too much that they’ve taken over my writing. 🙂

Oh goodness, that may be why I don’t care for cats–all that moving through walls and levitating, yikes! 🙂 Your ha’sonnets are nonpareil–I shall have to practice more! And I’ll have to search for your “To Sleep Perchance”…must be interesting with a cat in it 🙂 Enjoy what remains of the weekend!

Very nice, looks like I’m not the only one to one composing music. Check out “Highland Tableau” at The Peaceful Pub.

Thank you! I’ve been listening to more music lately, and it is rubbing off on my writing. 🙂 I will definitely check “Highland Tableau” out!

Intriguing and, as always, subtle – well done. I initially thought the reference was to the song ‘Ride Sally Ride’ by/ from the movie The Commitments.

Thank you very much! I’m glad you found it intriguing. 🙂 “The Commitments” is a great, fun movie, with a soundtrack I enjoy very much. “Sure there’s a lot of different music you can get off on but soul is more than that. It takes you somewhere else.” “Ride Sally Ride” is definitely a different vibe than “Ride Captain Ride”!

Wowwwwww–Good…no, better than good, WAY-GOOD! I woke from an odd dream today…but then, mine are almost always ODD, ‘specially as it gets close to Full Moon. So your poem struck a familiar chord…but you penned it more eloquently than I could have 🙂

Thank you very much! I like the ODD dreams, and the absurd dreams. I’m glad you found it relatable. And I’m sure you could pen something as or more eloquently. 🙂

You’re a delightful gentleman 🙂 The only dreams I don’t like are nightmares… and you’re right, the absurd ones can make you wake up laughing, which is a Great Thing!
