“I’d love to help but I don’t work here.” I guess people look for friendly faces, it’s happened to me before.

Thanks! Friendly, non-threatening. I don’t know. I was even asked directions by a French bus driver at Windsor Castle in when I was vacationing in England. I just smile and try to help them or help them find someone who can help them.
