Together Now This thought is DOPE Diversity is what we hope’s the recipe Put it all in and we all win More thoughts are caught Put Me In Coach I’ll be DIRECT How was your day As you expect two things to say That’s great but this you'll need to fix How grand’s your plan

Inspired by Kate‘s poems about the Leadership Training her employer had her take posted at anotherkatewilson, and urged on by her, I wrote these ha’sonnets about the Leadership Training my employer had me take. Thanks, Kate!
DOPE and DIRECT as used above are from the training. DOPE is a personality typing based on birds: Dove, Owl, Peacock, Eagle. It was included as part of the diversity day of training. DIRECT is a form of coaching, standing for: Develop rapport; Indicate focus; Reinforce and recognize; Engage in self-discovery; Cause for gap/create a plan; Test/tweak/timeline.
I had not heard of Dove, Owl, Peacock, Eagle before. I can make a few guesses about personality traits, but not enough to estimate which what I would be. In any event, two good poems.

Thank you! While I think the “bird” typing is a stretch, the idea behind it is okay: to learn how others interact so you work with them in a way that brings out their strengths rather than force them to deal with you.

Oh, they’re really good Stephen! I’m sure your team will appreciate you being DIRECT with them. 🙂
Now he’s got the
DOPE, he’s being
DIRECT, you be
on the job, see,
or making tracks.
No being slack
on Stephen’s team.
