The Sandman
All I can do is lay and brood,
the Sandman’s in an impish mood.
Instead of sleeping sound till light,
he teases me all through the night.

You started this poem sort of serious but added a twist at the end. I didn’t know the sandman was that mean!

Thank you! The sandman is actually quite cruel in some mythology, used as a type of bogeyman.

Thanks! I mean, if the sandman is responsible for helping you get to sleep and dream, wouldn’t they also be responsible for nightmares? 😉

Thank you! It’s not often a fun way to awaken.

No it’s not–the “wake up” is the roughest part of my day; once I get out of bed things begin to improve rapidly 🙂
