A Killer Thought

As a chancer
I’m assumin’
Not a dancer
must be human
I don’t care
if it’s a bear
The song ain’t wrong

For those who don’t know the song reference, you can watch it here (I apologize). To be honest, I’ve never actually listened to or read the words of this song because I can’t get past the refrain, so I don’t know what it is about 🙂:

  1. I confess that I don’t often listen to music on other people’s blogs–terrible, I know. But since I have an abiding regard for you, Stephen (same old, truly old fan, just a new blog), I was compelled to listen to this one–and to further research the meaning of the lyrics.

I always and forever love your ha’sonnets–they’re brilliant and inspire me to keep working at the form. Now here’s what I found on the WWW/”net”:

“In an interview with MTV, Flowers confirmed that the lyric was “dancer” and that it was taken from the Hunter S. Thompson quote – ‘We’re raising a generation of dancers’.”

Thompson was a very scary guy, in my opinion, but I kinda have to like his line in the quote.

(PS: Mr Flowers, the front man/lead singer in the group, sings the song with a great inner intensity…and he’s cute/attractive. I’m old, not dead 😉 Rene/Jael/Rhen, etc )

    Blessings on your weekend!

    1. Thank you very much! Wow, you really looked into this. I didn’t expect anyone to watch the video, I just added the link because it was what I used as my muse. Maybe the song is meaningful in some way, then. I just can’t get passed the refrain, so the station gets changed when it comes on. 😁
