Though you have doubts
what "they" say’s true,
it’s what one spouts
to console you.
Maybe not what
you wanted, but
well-meant intent.

    1. Thank you! Not so much the opposite. More like how many people don’t think about what would really be appropriate or empathetic and go for easy or sympathetic. It doesn’t really help, but they appear to and maybe even feel they care.
