While I wandered down a dark hall my thoughts squandered without recall of whence I came and whom to blame for this remiss

I found this prompt in a folder and decided to write something for it, especially since Christine has started reposting these blog prompts on her site. In response to the 9 October 2019 Monster, She Wrote Book Title daily writing prompt on the Brave and Reckless blog and based on the title of a short story or book “Down a Dark Hall” by Lois Duncan discussed in the book “Monster, She Wrote: The Women Who Pioneered Horror and Speculative Fiction” by Lisa Kröger.
Lovely drollery.
