What lies beneath the surface truths shall bare their teeth put out their booths once the hook's set? No idle threat beguiles with smiles.

Hey! My daughter Bee has an Etsy site for “Hand sewn decorative items” – RaccoonStitches! Please check it out!
I saw the phrase “what lies beneath” in a lot of posts lately, which made me think it was a prompt, but I can’t find it if it is. So I’ll credit Christine E. Ray’s poem “What Lies Beneath?” on her wonderful site “Brave & Reckless” for being the muse.
It’s a sad scary world–since the Beginning there have been smiles that beguile, hiding bared teeth and hooks. Ah well, at least we have ha’sonnets!! “What Lies Beneath”–I think that’s also a great movie (mystery/thriller). Hope you’re “keeping well”.

Sad and scary indeed. I think it was a movie, now that you mention it. 🤔 Thanks, Zelda! Enjoy!

Michele Phifer (spelling?) was great in the movie–it’s one of my go-to mystery-thrillers 🙂

this speaks to me of adverts on tele: flashy, gimmicky but with one purpose in mind 🙂

Thank you, John! 🙂 It sadly covers a lot – adverts, politicians, pollsters – anyone who is trying to influence your opinion.
