Ever Closer

I died today
a little bit
which is one way
to look at it
Depressing, yes
but nonetheless
towards end I wend

Ready or not
Death always comes
Taking the lot
It all succumbs
Except for rocks
But then those blocks
decay away

How We Measure

I’ve heard the thought
life will go on
whether or not
we’re here or gone
What we endow
depends on how
we play today

So in the end
the love we share
will help transcend
places we err
and memory
of you and me
could be happy
