Hidden Feelings

The footsteps were
moving away
I hoped for her
to be okay
though she would try
to make me cry
if she saw me

Inspired by using a prompt from the First Line Generator site, though spread across the first two lines 🙂. Thanks to Mr. Mouse for posting about it sometime back in his The Twisting Tail site that I’m too lazy to go find. (But you all should go find and read what he writes because it’s highly entertaining and well worth the time you’ll spend there.)

Looking for a hand sewn pillow? My daughter Bee has an Etsy site for “Hand sewn decorative items” – RaccoonStitches! Please check it out!

My Unpaid Bills

While I wandered
down a dark hall
my thoughts squandered
without recall
of whence I came
and whom to blame
for this remiss

I found this prompt in a folder and decided to write something for it, especially since Christine has started reposting these blog prompts on her site. In response to the 9 October 2019 Monster, She Wrote Book Title daily writing prompt on the Brave and Reckless blog and based on the title of a short story or book “Down a Dark Hall” by Lois Duncan discussed in the book “Monster, She Wrote: The Women Who Pioneered Horror and Speculative Fiction” by Lisa Kröger.

Futility

I must say this
being human
is an abyss
where acumen
helps just so much
Even with such
we all will fall

Inspired by the 16 March 2021 prompt “This being human is” on the “dVerse – Poets Pub” site, though not following the direction to start the poem with the prompt. (Well, it doesn’t fit within the construct of my syllable count. 🙂)
